Day 31 of 31 Days of Halloween

Here we are day 31.  Piles of ideas left for another year.  Emergency cards, tags, creations created.  BUT I made it.  31 projects for the month of October.  I feel so wicked.  I'm glad I jumped into this blog thing at the last minute. Thank you to everyone who stopped by - I began to feel a responsibility to craft it out to the end.  HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!  And thank you to Smeared Ink to putting this whole thing on.  AMAZING!!!

HAPPY HAUNTING

I made this card.  My husband judged it my best card yet (I can't say that I agree, but here it is!).  I HAD to go out with the gelatos around the edge.  So there's my finally spooky stamp art.  That creepy flying guy should be holding onto something….

This is no joke. I wish I could say I staged this photo, but that small area under that moon stamp is where I made all my projects.  What is wrong with me?!?!

LITTLE BONUS
The Saw department has been creeping around my blog.  He brought me this pumpkin decoration for our Halloween party inspired by my card for my grandma!  What a GOON!

Day 30 of 31 Days of Halloween

Today I am sharing an Altoid Tin I rusted a long time ago - it has been sitting around just waiting for this day…

Remember

Of course when one is creating an assemblage like this it goes though many phases.  On my craft table right now I have a pile of discarded elements.  But ultimately this is what I have to share for day 30 for the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop put on by Smeared Ink.

I rusted this tin so long ago I don't even remember how I did it.  Since then my dad has been saving his altoid tins for me - we were both discouraged when they started to emboss the tops of their mint tins. All the same I have a stock pile of these waiting to be altered into some for of "art" my dad doesn't understand… It's all about the process of creating...

This heart stamp is from Stampa Fe, and I first embossed it then watercolored it.  Added that little guy who I picked up at a bead store and some flowers.  I had some metal tape and I stamped it with REMEMBER - I debated a long time about if I should stick it on there.  I guess I decided to go with it.

This side has a sugar skull stamp also embossed and watercolored.  Some colorful skull beads and another flower.  I really wanted to drill some holes in the tin to attach the skulls, but TIME did not allow.

Of course I needed a butterfly and some dead mums (since I had them) for the photo.

WHOO HOO!!!  Tomorrow is the last day.  I'm going to make it!!!

Day 29 of 31 Days of Halloween

This is not how I wanted to go out of this blog hop.  I will make it, only 2 more days - but I wanted to make something really cool.  INSTEAD I ran out of time…. so here's a little something stamped.

Nice to meet you Satan

So, this felt really good to make this morning, my iPhone died yesterday so I'm feeling kind of frustrated… of course it's reminding me of how nice it is to be able to take photos edit them and get them on my blog really quickly.

I have been wanting to use this stamp for this hop - and I love this sentiment, it always makes me laugh.  Not the kind of stamped art I'm going to throw in as a Thank You with my orders though!

Stamps- Krampus, Dots, Sentiment (I got that at a stamp show, not 100% sure but I think it was from Carmen's Veranda.)

Here's to a decent day today - time to call about this phone situation! Thanks for stopping by!!!

Day 28 of 31 Days of Halloween

I used to make "art dolls" all the time, and well, now I have ZERO time for that.  I knew one of the creations I wanted to do for this Wicked Blog hop was an art doll (with the body of Halloween candy of course).  This was fun to make,  even though I got pretty frustrated with the results, I enjoyed myself.

The Sugar Bat Fairy

Here she is - very difficult for me to photograph.

She dropped her wand during the photo shoot and my patience were gone so I did not try to reattach it (also it disappeared - I looked for it and I could not find it?!!).

her DOLL PARTS:
the body is a fun-sized 3 musketeers (don't like them, they were in the Halloween candy stash, better for crafting than eating), the crown is from the trash from that candy bar, her wings are from a bat stamp, the head is just a doll head I've had rolling around my craft table, I stole the charm for her necklace from my daughter, her skirt is made from leftover tulle from my little one's costume along with stamped mini-skeletons, her legs are ribbon, and feet razor blades (don't they look like pointe shoes?)

So yeah - I made a doll out of trash and candy.  Is that art?  Hmm ?!?

Thanks for stopping by to check out my Sugar Bat Fairy.
Only THREE more creations to go...

Day 27 of 31 Days of Halloween

I've been wicked blogging for 27 days!  This has been great fun.  Just like the quote says "inspiration exists, but it has to find you working…" (Picasso).  It has been great forcing myself to create something each day this month.  Only Four more creations to go.

Skellie Candles

Last year my daughter encouraged us to celebrate the Day of the Dead.  So we built a small alter, made some foods,  and lit some candles, and this year we can add these little decorations to our alter.
Nothing too fancy about this decor - but I feel like it has a pretty cool effect.  I just stamped some skeletons and then attached them to a votive.  One set of skellies I painted  with watercolors.

They look kind of cool.  The lighting of the candles really shows my cutting job (yikes!) - these guys are kind of delicate.  Thanks again for stopping by!

Day 26 of 31 Days of Halloween

Sometimes you just gotta do a quick project…

Skull Posties

This is a quick but fun project. Again, sticking with some classic Halloween colors - I stamped some postage paper with the winemakers marks, then the skulls, and then gelatos around the edge of the perforations.  Perfect for slipping in with orders or adding onto the envelope.

Thanks for stopping by!  Only a few days left to go!!!!

Day 25 of 31 Days of Halloween

Happy Sunday everyone.  Still enjoying this incredible month long spooky blog hop put on by Smeared Ink?  I am.  I'm still cranking out the Halloween Creations - it's been a lot of fun.

Wibble Wobble Pumpkin Tower

Willble wobble the pumpkin tower is teetering!

This a card I made for my grandma - she's always sending me Halloween cards, and this year I will get one in the mail to her!  I used this cute pumpkin tower from Cherry Pie Arts.  LOVE IT!  I also stamped up some stars and the graveyard.  Used my first-leared stamping technique.. MASKING (I know, big time, right?)!  Then I watercolored the pumpkins and the graves and the grass.  The edge was created with a purple gelato smudge.

Thanks for stopping by!  Hope you enjoyed today's hop - one more stop… Dee Dee...

Day 24 of 31 Days of Halloween

Bird Skull ATC and 4 by 4

I made this ATC as a "rough draft" for a 4 by 4 art square, but it turns out I like the ATC much better.  I hate it when that happens! So I'll just share both.

4 by 4 version

Day 23 of 31 Days of Halloween

More wicked blogging!  This is day 23 of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween blog hop.  I've been working on a different Stamped Halloween post each day this month along with the other wicked bloggers - the links to their blogs are listed on the right hand side under the lil' grumpie.

Sprinkle Magic

This is the bone collector stamp, I've been wanting to use her for awhile for the hop, but could never get my idea quite right.  Still not so sure about this one….

Gelatos around the edge.  Watercolor. Stamps: owl, magic stars, sprinkle moondust, and Bone Collector on a 4 by 4 inchie square

It's the weekend!  Woo hoot!  8 more days of wicked blogging!!!

Day 22 of 31 Days of Halloween

Woosh!  Running out of time.  I had some ideas I wanted to be sure to make for this bloghopping extravaganza - but it's day 22 and I keep making ATCs or cards… my ideas are MeltIng…

Sharp Owl

This another image that is a family favorite around here.  I collect owl stamps and I do love this guy!  I even made a quilt based off the Sharp Owl image for my daughter.. but today it's he's a stamp, kinda dressed in Halloween colors, on a card.
Usually I go yellow with the eyes, but I was feelin' green.

First I did some background stamping with the numbers, and newsprint in orange, as well as the hinge in purple.  Misted it then let it dry.  Then I stamped and embossed the sharp owl and colored his eyes and did a little color highlighting.  I went around the edges with purple gelatos (YES I LOVE THEM VERY MUCH!) and smudged it up. I made a card and then layered a piece of black tulle on top and stapled that bad boy right onto the card.

He was supposed to have a little witch hat on.  I stamped it up and glittered it, but it just didn't seem to fit on those owl-brows.  So the colors will have to make it Halloweenish for now.  Thanks again for visiting my 31 days blogging craziness!

Day 21 of 31 Days of Halloween

I can start a countdown now!   Ten days of spooky blogging left.

The Devil made me do it!

Just read that packaging - Baby Ruth Real Peppermint Gum?

Check out this thief.  Hmmm the Devil made him do it?  Looks like he might just be the devil.  Maybe this stamp art doesn't make sense. It was fun to make though!

I made this awhile ago when I was gelatoing the heck out of my edges!  I still think it's fun!
Hop on over to Dee Dee's blog to see what creepy fun is lurking there...

Day 20 of 31 Days of Halloween

Candy Corn Thieves

Look at this creepy guy stealing candy corn!  Joke's on him - he doesn't know how un-tastey it is
This guy cracks me up!

Swooping owl doing the same thing!

I just sent the 100 Proof Press Newsletter out over the weekend, and I really like to have a little piece of thank you art in there for my first responders. I created these ATCs for the orders for this week - I will stamp the words "thank you" on them before I ship them out. I wish I always had time to throw a little something in the packages, but alas - 24 hours in a day.

I had fun making the background for these.  In this case, I stamped a whole sheet and then cut it to ATC size.  I just stamped those stars over and over using those colors (on a second page I did use a little purple).  Then I misted the paper and lightly stamped over the sort of damp paper with the tumbled glass ink and star stamp. Stamping Fun!

Day 19 of 31 Days of Halloween

Almost in the 20s.  Really I did not know if I was going to make it as a Wicked Blogger this year, but I'm at a good pace to post everyday this month!!! Thank you to Smeared Ink for putting this huge month long flow of spooky creations together.  So let's kick this week off with a surprise…

Nobody Puts Spooking in a Matchbox

I saw this little matchbox project in Rubber Stamp Madness a few months ago and I have been wanting to do it ever since.  So, I used this 31 Days challenge as a good reason to finally make it.

Tee hee hee!  Spooking in a Nightshirt fit right in there!  I should make a quick video of opening the box slowly so you can get the full effect.  On the back of Spooking is a ZAP dot that holds a small string on, which is taped to the underside of the top of the matchbox.  He pops up (just a little, well just enough)!  He gets folded down when the box is closed.

More Spooking Fun, right?

Now, I can't promise Spooking won't' make his way into my final projects, but I am going to try to get creepier and then go into Day of the Dead creations.  Gotta keep this stampin'-bloggin' ball a rollin'...

Day 18 of the 31 Days of Halloween

find peace ATC

Another image I am in LOVE with.  This one is from Cherry Pie Art Stamps.
I just love it!

Crack me up - I asked my husband to help me caption this ATC (I didn't go with any of his suggestions) and he asked me how the teeth on the skull were so white.  So I told him I used a white sharpie. "A white sharpie, who ever heard of such a thing?"  My oh my, right?
So that's the big trick/art skill on this ATC - use a white sharpie!

I'm gonna get some more days done today, I can just feel it!!!
Thanks for stopping by, I hope you are enjoying the 31 days of Halloween as much as I am.

Day 17 of 31 Days of Halloween

Can't stop now!!!

Skull Postcard

Thanks to the 31 Days of Halloween, my daughter will have a postcard for each day she is away!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this skull stamp.  It is from Lost Coast Designs and I am in love!
I used the same background method as in yesterday's card, then I stamped painted and cut out the skulls and glued them on.

WE ARE OVER HALF WAY!!!!!
Gotta keep on bloggin!
