Day 3 of 31 Days of Halloween

It's the third day for the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween.  This an amazing blog hop where you can win great prizes by following the blog roll of the 2015 Wicked Bloggers.

3 ATCS for Day 3

This seems to be a common story for me: I'm working on what I would consider a first draft with intentions of improving the design as I go - but only to think when all is created my first run was my favorite one!  That's what happened with these owl ATCs.  I thought I was doing the same thing, but each turned out differently.

I created a quick background with the winemakers marks in purple, then stamped some speckles in orange around the edge.  Then I stamped the tree rings and put that grouchy owl on top. I went around the edges with a brown gelato and smeared and smudged again to create a dirty frame.  Then I stamped BEWARE just to make sure it was spooky enough.

Hope you follow along and enjoy the Halloween creations created by the other Wicked Bloggers (BLOG ROLL TO THE RIGHT!)

Day 2 of 31 Days of Halloween

Wow!  Yesterday was a great first day for all of us Wicked Bloggers.  Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to leave a comment.  So this is Day two of the Smeared Ink 31 Days of Halloween.  I'm sure if you hop along again today you'll get some creative tricks and treats!

Ghoulish Greetings

It's funny how things work, it took me a really long time to think of my project for Day 1, but this card here popped right into my head.  I hunted for some cool orange paper and the stamped it up with some batty bats. Then  I stamped the large skull onto white paper and cut it out and glued it down.
I found a scrap from an old book and dropped a little citron ink on it and glued it below the skull.  Then I Grabbed the Ghoulish Greetings stamp, stamped it on white, cut it out a little crooked and inked around the edge.
Kind of funny, I just noticed the text on the piece of paper simple.  That is indeed how this mini card felt after struggling with my ideas for this 31 day hop.  So far I'm 2 for 2 - I plan on keeping it up, but I know it is not going to be simple.

Day 1 of 31 Days of Halloween

Oh yeah!  It's October 1st - time to get your SPOOK on!  This year I am participating as a Wicked Blogger  - which means I will be posting a Halloween project each day this month.  It's all part of a month long super spooky hop hosted by Smeared Ink.  You can follow along with us Wicked Bloggers - you'll find all the links over there on the right side ---> IF YOU DARE!

For my first project I figured I'd stay true to myself and my purple and owl obsession.  This was the best owl I had for making Spooky something. And of course I'm going to have my moon stamp very close to my side the next 31 days. And try as I might to not use that honeycomb stamp around the edges - it just works so well for me.

For the background a did some stamping with the winemakers mark stamp in purple distress ink and then sprayed it.  Then I went around the edge with a purple, silver, and black gelato and SMEARED and SMUDGED (appropriate, no?).  Then I stamped the honeycomb stamp around the edge in black and purple, then the word Spooky and the tree in black.  Then I stamped the moon and owl on white paper, cut them out and glued them on.

I glued the whole thing down on white card stock and stamped 31 days of Halloween.
I know I'm going to have a lot of fun this month sharing my creations with you - and I hope you enjoy following along!  Happy WICKED blogging!

December Calendar Page

For my December calendar page I stamped a winter tree onto that botany book paper I had laying around and outlined it with GLITTER!  I did some holiday paper laying on the side.  I stamped Warm Winter Wishes on a winter scrap and layered it on too.  Added some silver leaves and the Queen of The Stars.  This is not my normal style, more of an experiment. But hey, I got my December page done!

Stamps Used: Tree, Queen of Stars, and Warm Winter Wishes - all stamped on the blank calendar for stamping.

Block Hop!

I'm excited I got to participate in the ATB and 100 Proof Press Block hop.  I feel the wintery feel coming on, and I created a two block thing with some of my favorite stamps!   It was a lot of fun to create.

For my tower, I painted each block piece with blue paint, then covered it with vintage paper from a botany book (I am currently stuck on using this paper!), stamped some snowflakes and embossed.  Then I layered on the embellishments and stamps.  I made a mini-winter wonderland with my favorite queen of stars stamp, a little tree and some cute fungus. And for the first time in a long time I whipped out the GLITTER!  I really enjoyed creating with the blocks.  Thanks for stopping by.  If you're interested in more block creations you can like ATB on Facebook - there are some amazing crafty towers out there!

October Calendar Page

Finally!  I got the 2015 calendars in over at 100 Proof Press.  I had to make one, I just cannot resist that BatBoy stamp!  I inked the heck out of my calendar page and then I used a ton of different stamps for the background.  So, here's my first calendar page for my 2015 calendar challenge - I guess that's on again!

October "Take The Challenge"

Day of the Dead "Take the Challenge" at Design Memory Craft

I choose to create a few Day of the Dead pieces for this challenge, and I really did have a lot of fun!

All 4 things I stamped up.  All of the stamps I used are from 100 Proof Press - except the letter stamps

I had been really wanting to create something with this sugar skull stamp - and this challenge got me to use it.  I used several other stamps to create the backgrounds on all 4 pieces.  The other main stamps you see on this card are the dangling stars and the measurement bar.

I have always loved this saying.
Stamps used: small sugar skull, hanging heart from cling set, and lots of background stamps.

Yeah - I LOVE this sugar skull lady stamp.

Again, I just love this sugar skull stamp designed by my friend Danita. The background here was made with gelatos.  Then I stamped all over, added the hearts, stamped the sugar skull to paper and glued it to the wood cut out.
