Day 10 of 31 Days of Halloween

Happy Saturday.  I hope you've been enjoying the marvelous hop. So many great spooky stampy creations.  Hope you have sometime to hop along with the Wicked Bloggers - you can find the blog roll on the right.

Some Creepy Leafies

I was walking my kids to the bus stop and happen to pass by some beautifully stampable leaves and collected them.  Then I ran off to my craft room and started stamping (then got a call from the school saying my daughter left her homework at school!).  So I quickly ran to the school and then back to the craft room….
All of my spooky stamps are all over my desk so it didn't even take too much hunting time!
I used whatever creepy stamping I could find and Archival black ink.
I stamped them up, waited for the wind to die down and put them back on the path my kids take to get to the bus.  Then did find them as a surprise so that was kind of fun!

Stamps Used:  Poe, Skull, Owl, Bird Legs, Skeleton, SPOOKING IN A NIGHTSHIRT, a bat, graves and random words.
HOOT HOOT!!!

SPOOKING IN A NIGHTSHIRT says hop along to the next blog!!!

Day 9 of 31 Days of Halloween

Welcome to day 9 of a very intensive month long blog hop hosted by Smeared Ink.  Serval stamp artists are participating in the 31 Days of Halloween by sharing a new stamped creation each day for the month of October.  You can find the blog roll for the Wicked Bloggers on the right hand side of my blog.  Thanks for stopping by - enjoy Day 9!

Trick or Treat!

An angel in a graveyard… Trick or Treat!  I guess got a little cute with this tag.
I used a tag that I had washed with white gesso, then I stamped the graveyard in black and stars in purple on the tag.  Then I went around the edges with green and purple gelatos and smudged around the edge of the tag.  Then I stamped the angel on white card stock and orange card stock.  I cut the orange dress out and glued it on top of the girl stamped on white and cut it out.  Then I stamped the jack-o-lantern in orange and cut it out and snuck it into her hand.  Then I glued it down and stamped Trick or Treat! on top.  Add some yarn and done!

Trick or Treat!  Too cute for me - but I thought it was kind of a fun way to go for this Friday.

Day 8 of 31 Days of Halloween

Here we go.  I have a SPOOKY tag for you today for the eighth day of the 31 Days of Halloween.  I have been bopping around from blog to blog myself, and we have some really talented stampers participating in this giant hop.  If you want to follow along you can find the blog roll on the right hand side of my blog and you can see just how involved this hop Smeared Ink is hosting.  Lots of prizes so check it out!

Boooooooo Tag

This image has an oddly sentimental meaning to me… my father helps me out cutting the wood in the stamp shop, and whenever this image is ordered he yells out "SPOOKING IN A NIGHTSHIRT!" several times.  I mean several.  We used to have these great orders from Japan, and they would order dozens of these guys and we would always be a bit puzzled.  Since then it has become one of my favorite images as well.  So you might be seeing more of this guy during my wicked blogging.
I dabbed a little white gesso on the tag and let it dry.  Then I stamped the honeycomb around the edge in orange and black.  Then I just stamped SPOOKING IN A NIGHTSHIRT with the Boooooo under it.  The bat was stamped, water colored and the glued on.  I went around the eyed with black gelatos (I'm so into that for this hop!).
Another little funny bit about this image - I have asked my newsletter readers to create cards using this stamp and send them to my dad for his birthday (Nov 4).  We'll see if anyone takes the challenge (you are more than welcome to participate)!  Just trying to have fun in this stamping world!

Day 7 of 31 Days of Halloween

Well, I really wanted to have a cool project to share today, but time did not allow for that.  I must say this 31 days of Halloween Hop is really keeping me going.  This ATC was kind of like my "emergency sub-plans" for a substitute teacher .  So I hope you have time to hop through the other Wicked blogs to get some inspiring ideas.  AND I want to thank everyone who has been stopping by to get songs stuck in their head and check out my crazy stamping ways.  THANKS!

Spooky ATC

Simple ATC - first I stamped the blank ATC with the large handwriting with orange, inked the edges and misted.  Then I stamped the haunted house and the word Spooky at the bottom.  I then used my watercolors to lightly paint the glowing moon, windows, and a little roof.  Finally, I did some black speckle stamping around the edges.
Not the fanciest project, but these will make for some nice little thank-yous for my orders this week!

I love and appreciate all your comments - this is a lot of fun! Keep on a Hoppin!

Day 6 of 31 Days of Halloween

And the hop goes on… This is Day 6 for the Wicked Bloggers who are participating in the 31 Days of Halloween extravaganza.  There are already be so many awesomely spooky creations, and we are not even close to half done.  If you want to follow along you can find the blog roll on the right had side of my blog.

dream on…

I was shopping around Cherry Pie Art Stamps and fell in love with this sentiment stamp.  I did not think  I would use it with the death wheel, but here it is!

This a 4 by 4 mini stamped art thing.  First thing I did was stamp the Uffizi Arch Sketch in green, misted it and then I had a light green background to work on.  Then I stamped the death wheel and the sentiment from Cherry Pie.  I used a little purple gelato with water to color the circles on the wheel.  And I colored in the dream on with an orange marker.  Then I added the skullie border all crazy like.  Then back to the gelatos - I used green around the edge and smudged it around.  Then I added black ink all the way around the border.

Happy Tuesday Wicked Hoppers and Bloggers- and try not to read too much into this piece - I don't have creepy dreams...

Day 5 of 31 Days of Halloween

This year I am participating as a Wicked Blogger for the 31 Days of Halloween blog hop hosted by Smeared Ink.  You can find the list of blogs that are participating on the right.  Hop along and WIN some prizes!

Poe Calendar Page

I'm not usually a "Poe" crafter, but he fit in perfectly with the raven heart thing I started.  This started as a 4 by 4 on a mat board but then I realized it would work very well as my October calendar if I added a little something (Poe's head in the corner).

For this calendar page I stamped the large handwriting text in green and then I started gluing down ripped pieces of a book around the edge.  After that I went around the edge with green and black gelatos - and smeared and smudged them with my finger until it turned black.  Then I stamped Poe, the Raven, and the books, candle, paper and carefully cut them out (I cut the candle off so as not to burn the bird).  Glued them all down and stamped the dangle heart and colored the heart and book marker red.  I have a nevermore stamp I could have used, and I don't know why I didn't… maybe I'll rework my 4 by 4...

The best part is now my October calendar page is done, and I'm 5 for 5 on the 31 Days of Halloween!

Day 4 of 31 Days of Halloween

It's Sunday, but there's not rest for the Wicked Bloggers!  Follow the blog roll to the right to spy some amazing Halloween-themed projects.

Who are you calling psycho?

I have a stash of tags washed with white gesso and I'm slowly spookifying them.  I found this quote stamp, sadly I forget where I got it, but I love it!  The rest of the stamps are from 100 Proof Press.  On the gesso coated tag I stamped the newsprint background, then in black did some honeycomb framing. I stamped the bottle and cut the the label off, then stamped some mini-skulls and glued the bottle on top and trimmed around the edge. I again used the newsprint stamp, but with orange on white paper and stamped the quote.  Inked up the edge and glued it on.  And there you have my Day 4 project for the 31 Days of Halloween!

My plan is to get in my craft room this weekend and at least bust out 5 more projects for this month-long hop.  So far it's been a lot of fun - just the kind of challenge I needed.
