Day 30 of 31 Days of Halloween

Today I am sharing an Altoid Tin I rusted a long time ago - it has been sitting around just waiting for this day…

Remember

Of course when one is creating an assemblage like this it goes though many phases.  On my craft table right now I have a pile of discarded elements.  But ultimately this is what I have to share for day 30 for the 31 Days of Halloween Blog Hop put on by Smeared Ink.

I rusted this tin so long ago I don't even remember how I did it.  Since then my dad has been saving his altoid tins for me - we were both discouraged when they started to emboss the tops of their mint tins. All the same I have a stock pile of these waiting to be altered into some for of "art" my dad doesn't understand… It's all about the process of creating...

This heart stamp is from Stampa Fe, and I first embossed it then watercolored it.  Added that little guy who I picked up at a bead store and some flowers.  I had some metal tape and I stamped it with REMEMBER - I debated a long time about if I should stick it on there.  I guess I decided to go with it.

This side has a sugar skull stamp also embossed and watercolored.  Some colorful skull beads and another flower.  I really wanted to drill some holes in the tin to attach the skulls, but TIME did not allow.

Of course I needed a butterfly and some dead mums (since I had them) for the photo.

WHOO HOO!!!  Tomorrow is the last day.  I'm going to make it!!!

Fabulous little Dia de los Muertos tin. Yeah, it's a bummer they started to emboss the lids. (Not the teeny ones, though.) xxD

Wicked cool altered tin and I love the rust! Hmmm, I'll be putting some of mine outside in the winter elements to get some real rust action going on I think for projects for next year ;0) Happy Halloween Eve!

I apologize for my previous comment.
I thought I was at DeeDee's post already.
I know you've hung through thick and thin - it's been a long haul.
I still love the box and will be using this idea.

You managed to put so much into a tiny space. I had not seen the tins rusted before.
